The Problems Every Sat 10pm in May at the Darkroom

Oh, those pesky books! They wouldn’t be so hard to read if it weren’t for all those words. San Francisco’s only sketch tragedy group, The Problems, takes a look at the problems of books through time, from the writing of the Old Testament to recent literary hoaxes. Through sketches, monologues, spoken word, and parodies of Lassie, they examine the everyday trouble of literature.

The Problems group consists of Joe Donohoe, (author of To Be Santa You Have to Be Tested), Harmon Leon (author of Republican Like Me and The Harmon Chronicles), Mike Spiegelman (founder of the variety show Speigelmania! and former Fresh Robots member), and Bucky Sinister (author of Whiskey and Robots).

3rd Annual 50 Mason Comedy Competition Events and Dates Announcecd!

Hosted once again by Mr. Mike Spiegelman!!

The San Francisco Comedy Club (50 Mason) is now accepting submissions
for our 3rd annual comedy competition. The field is limited to 75
contestants. The competition is open to all levels of comedians.
Email Mr. Joe Hunt - sfcomedyopenmike@yahoo.com with your name and phone
number to enter. The format for the competition is as follows:

1st round - 5 minute set.
Semi finals - 6 minute set.
Finals - 8 minute set.

The audience/judges will vote 5 comedians to the semi finals each
week.

Wednesday, June 7th (8pm) 1st round.
Wednesday, June 14th (8pm) 1st round.
Wednesday, June 21st (8pm) 1st round.
Wednesday, June 28th (8pm) 1st round.
Wednesday, July 5th (8pm) Semi Finals.
Wednesday, July 12th (8pm) Semi Finals.
Wednesday, July 19th (8pm) FINALS.
